My Talking Tom Friends 2 is already a significant step up from its predecessor, with an eyecatching new look, more varied gameplay, and a greater variety of ways you can interact with the lovable cast of characters.

So it’s very good news indeed that the game has received its first major update, just in time for Halloween.

Let’s take a look at how this new update improves on a sequel that has already been turning heads since its release earlier this year.

Cooking up a storm

A hugely impressive part of My Talking Tom Friends 2 is how involved the mini-games are, and this new update adds five new ones. The new cooking option is possibly our favorite.

It sees you creating a range of culinary delights in a free-flow kitchen, where you must drag, slice, mix, sizzle, plate, and decorate.

The friends react differently to every creation too, and there are even restaurant-themed outfits including Chef, Waiter, Cook, Picnic Boy, Burgerino, and Picnic Girl.

Straighter smiles

You might well need a dentist after eating such fine food though, and My Talking Tom Friends 2 has you covered here too with the Clinic.

It’s not as scary as it sounds though, so don’t worry. It’s simply a place where you can poke around one of your friend’s mouths removing food and debris, brushing their teeth, rebuilding missing pieces, polishing, and adding playful decorations.

The decorations you add on a character’s teeth will remain there until the end of the game day too.

Face Painting

There’s the chance to paint the faces of the game’s characters via Talking Angela’s Makeup Station as well.

Here you can select designs and paint using stencils.

If you want to go above and beyond you can apply stickers too. And don’t worry, you can undo anything you choose to paint – so mistakes are a mere removable roadbump on the way to facial decoration perfection.

Fixing things up

From face painting to fixing up, the update also adds Talking Ben’s Workbench. This allows you to repair a huge number of items.

This includes broken glasses, RC cars, skateboards, and games consoles. There are step-by-step guides on how to fix each item, but you never feel talked down to. Instead, fixing an item always feels like an achievement.

Spooky season

It’s Halloween soon too, of course, and My Talking Tom Friends 2 is ready and prepared for the spookiest day of the year.

The neighborhood and characters’ homes in the game are appropriately decorated with spooky touches, and you’ll need to explore every last one to see what’s been added. Each activity has been tweaked to make sure the mood is suitably scary too, but in the most awesome way possible.

Then the in-game fridge is stocked up with a range of frightful treats including Witch Hat Pancakes and Zombie Sandwiches. There are also six new costumes allowing you to dress up as a Werewolf, Mummy, Vampire, Pumpkin, Alien, or Bruja.

So, if this all sounds good – and it should! – then make sure you check out this latest update for My Talking Tom Friends 2 on the App Store or Google Play.
