Lunar Client Acquires Badlion – Great News for Minecraft Players
We all love Minecraft. Business news, perhaps less so. But the fact that Minecraft UGC platform Lunar Client has just acquired Badlion From ESL FACEIT Group is news everyone should be celebrating.
This acquisition is set to unite over 3 million users in Minecraft, with platforms like Lunar Client shaping how they play together – from casual world-building to competitive PvP.
Lunar Client, if you didn’t know, is the leading leading Minecraft: Java Edition client. It is effectively a free all-in-one modpack that offers over 65 customizable mods and hundreds of settings to enhance your Minecraft experience.
The mods it includes are suitable for all players across all the game modes – from PvP to SkyBlock, to the most popular mods and features such as PvP Hud Mods, Performance Enhancements, and SkyBlock Mods.
What are the details?

Minecraft is a massive deal of course- with over 300 million copies sold and nearly 170 million active players.
And a key reason for this success is the inclusion of user generated content (UGC), such as custom modifications. And that’s where clients that enable such content like Lunar Client and Badlion come in.
The two teaming up means less fuss for players, as Matheus Fonseca (CEO and Co-founder of Moonsworth, Operator of Lunar Client) explains: “By bringing Badlion into the Lunar Client ecosystem, we’re creating a unified platform that combines the best of both worlds – enhanced performance, customizable mods, and innovative features that players love.”
Lunar Client started off as a high school project between three co-founders, and has grown from strength to strength ever since offering players 65 customizable mods and hundreds of settings.
The aim is to improve on what it offers Minecraft players in the months and years to come too. We’ll end on these words from Fonseca, where he says that “in addition to the acquisition, we’re exploring incredible brand partnerships with leaders in retail, entertainment, and beyond to bring even more benefits to our community.”
